“As soon as we found out the theme of the project was “Inspired by the Grand”, I knew we had to honour our First Nations community. My goal was to incorporate the beauty of the land with a reminder that Every Child Matters. The subject of the piece being female was intentional. In asking the public to use their hands to bring texture to the painting, my hope was to imbed every individual’s energy into the painting. Energy that represents the hope, joy and healing of this land and all its peoples.”
