“When I think about the Grand River, I think about my ancestors inhabiting this land for generations. I think about our job to protect this land and water from poison and greed. The mural says without saying “we were here first and we are still here”. The grandmother is walking the red road, which in our teachings is the right way to live, and she’s taking her grandson along side her and teaching him the ways. All while our Seven Grandfather’s watch over and protect them.”
