“The vision for this mural was from the perspective of looking out over lily pads, standing on the banks of the Grand River. The mural was created using acrylic paint, brushes, spray bottles, scrub brushes, and yarn to create texture and movement throughout the water, land, and sky. The community was invited to create this piece. Through their confident brush strokes, curiosity to explore new ways to apply paint, and great energy, this mural is a legacy of the individuals who put paint to board. The land and the water come together. Water provides life, and the land fosters the communities that cherish this magnificent river.”
